The repeating wrist crossbow holds 5 bolts. Unlike a hand, light or heavy repeating crossbow, you do not need to manually reload the next bolt to be fire as the device will do it mechanically. There is a chance the device will jam though, on an attack roll of 1, if this happens it will take a Full-Round Action and successful DC 15 Craft: Weaponry or Knowledge: Engineering check. Loading a new cartridge of 5 bolts is a Full-Round Action that provokes Attacks of Opportunity. However, you must use two hands to load a new bolt cartridge. You fire the repeating wrist crossbow with the hand it is mounted on. You may wield a weapon in that hand but the crossbow can only be fired if that hand is free. You may not use a shield with this hand as the crossbow will interfere with the use of the shield. The idea of using a buckler as part of the device has been discussed but is mechanically unfeasible currently.
