( To be started. Sorry this has taken so long, been tired and kinda out of it all week. )
Upon arriving at the city center the party said their goodbyes to Mr. Jalento and took some time to reequip themselves, after which they would follow Faen to the Meirani Consulate where he would deliver news to his wife about the fate of their only child. Faen would've offered his companions a place to rest for the night if he had it, though it appears the quirky "assassin" may have tried to make herself at home anyways.
After that interesting night the party would reunite in the morning and make their way to Castle Korvosa to deliver what they suspected was the Queen's missing brooch. Upon arrival they were asked by the guards to disarm, which most of the party did with little hesitation; Eliora seemed like she was going to pass off her amazingly deadly scarf but they noticed fairly quickly. Faen thought to himself for moment whether or not they would consider his shield a threat but decided against it, he did feel quite naked without it and was worried that his distress would show on his face lest they think he were actually hiding something. That worry was ill-placed as, once they met with Sabina, the Queen's bodyguard, the party found themselves down a strange pale girl; Sera attempted to hide a knife in her boot and Sabina, after demanding that it be turned over, booted the unfortunate alchemist down the stairs. Not wishing to further raise the ire of the intimidating figure the party decided to ignore the plight of their erstwhile companion and continue on. There they met with the widowed Queen of Korvosa and delivered to her the brooch, an experience which Faen found quite humbling, less for being in the presence of royalty but more due to how genuine she seemed, not at all like her reputation. Though it may be that he felt sympathy towards her due to recent mutual loss. They were rewarded for their efforts and asked to report to Cressida Kroft, leader of the Korvosan Guard for some mercenary work with the guard, then the Queen departed. The party did as well, collecting their gear and meeting up with their battered and now weaponless companion on the outside of the Castle, as well as an escort of guards.
They then made their way to ( ... wherever the Korvosan Guard were stationed at, Rumplestiltskin Danzig, I can't remember ) and reported in with Cressida and were given the task of apprehending Verik Vancaskerkin, head of a rebellous group of Korvosan guards, who was holing up in an abandoned, or perhaps seized butcher shop. We left immediately and quickly found ourselves outside the establishment. Eliora went in first to scout and found a few rebels inside, who were quite rude to her, obviously not even trying to play the part of businessmen. While she did that the rest of the party went around the back and crept their way in, quickly finding themselves in glorious splattery combat with the guards, Vancaskerkin being very difficult to take down, being righteous in his belief of the "Whore Queen's Evil", being completely unwilling to surrender. Eventually he would be taken down during the combat, a combat which saw Brother Matthew become uncharacteristically bloodthirsty for a priest. The party then began to search the premises; while Eliora was upstairs searching the office Faen found himself surprised by a room with three loose wild boars, which set upon him with a tusky vengeance, forcing Faen to hastly withdraw to the group to fight them off. While the tumultuous tussle with the portly pork was happening; and Eliora hearing none of this squealy commotion, Sera came upon the idea of restraining their captive further, tied up and hung over one of the boiling pots used for preserving meats and toughening skins. After the last of boorish boars was vanquished, the rest of the group realized what was happening and questioned their pale friend about what she was planning, causing her to nonchalantly release the rope holding up the captive. As bringing Vancaskerkin back alive would be the preferred method of retrieval, the rest of the party found themselves leaping towards the pot, with Eliora deftly managing to grab ahold of the rope. Everyone covered in a cold sweat, they now stand before each other, questioning themselves as to what comes next.
